Your buildings insurance may help with eligible costs of finding and accessing the leak or putting right resulting water damage. Pipe repairs can be treated differently. Cover depends on your policy and circumstances.

For claims assistance following a leak, a leak-detection report is needed. Agree its content and cost before booking. A loss assessor’s water-damage survey is a separate document; neither guarantees an insurance payment.
